Scrutiny is the process of tenants checking and challenging how we deliver our services. Local Scrutiny Groups  offer recommendations for change and champion where the landlord gets it right.

The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), sets regulatory standards for social housing landlords such as Together Housing Group. However the HCA does not play an active role in overseeing the Consumer Standards, (Tenant Involvement and Empowerment, Home, Tenancy, Neighbourhood and Community) and only looks in detail at the Economic Standards, (Governance and Financial Viability, Rents and Value for Money).

This means landlords should regularly review and monitor services and performance, they are also held to account by their tenants through strong tenant involvement and the development of tenant scrutiny.
