First bricklaying ceremony for new development

The first brick laying ceremony has been held on Warehouse Lane in the village of Foulridge to mark the start of work on a new housing development. The new development is now underway and will see 20 homes including two, three and four bedroom built for a mixture of open market sale, shared ownership and rent to buy.

Representatives from Together Housing Group were joined by Pendle Council and Bowsall Ltd to celebrate the start of the new development which will provide much-needed affordable family homes to suit local needs.

The 0.56 hectare Greenfield site was previously an area of unused grassland. Through consultation, a thoughtful and sustainable development was proposed for the site that is in a beautiful location surrounded by open countryside and near the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.

The development is close to a range of facilities including shops, healthcare facilities and a primary school, all within walking distance. The larger centre of Colne is 2.5km away with a wider range of services, employment opportunities and good transport links to other areas of the North West.

Ian Clark, Group Director of Strategy and Communications for Together Housing, said: “These homes are in a great location, being a semi-rural setting with good transport connections to other areas of the North West.

“Developments like this not only provide homes for those wanting to buy on the open market, but also mean Together Housing Group can invest more money in our schemes across the North of England that are providing homes for affordable rent and shared ownership.”

The new development is expected to be completed in early 2019. If you’d like more information about Warehouse Lane you can email
