As the end of September creeps up on us, it’s not too early to remind you that Stoptober is just around the corner. Public Health England (PHE) are challenging smokers to give up for just 28 days from the 1st October, joining almost 15 million other people who have quit and making them five times more likely to quit for good.

Quitters are often surprised by how quickly they see the health benefits after stubbing out that last cigarette. You could see an improvement in your breathing and general fitness within two weeks, as well as reducing the risk of heart conditions, lung cancer and strokes to name a few.

Every cigarette you smoke is harmful, and they effect more than your health. Smoking is expensive and it all adds up, on average a quitter will save up to £250 a month. What would you spend your savings on?

Smokers are encouraged to quit smoking for the month of October, but you won’t be alone. There is a range of personal help, support packs and advice available to help you make the healthier choice.
