Florence Hits 100

IMG_0622Good food, clean living and hard work is the key to long life according to one tenant, Florence Maudsley, who has celebrated her 100th birthday.

Florrie, a former secretary at Thomas Leech and Sons Accountants and later at Daisyfield Primary – the school she attended as a child - celebrated her birthday with a special party with friends and neighbours at the community room at Trinity Court in Blackburn.

She was showered with gifts including a bouquet of flowers from us, presented by Neighbourhood Officer Christine Parry, and her card from Her Majesty, The Queen.

Born on June 1, 1916 on Goldhey Street, Florrie married Fred in April 1941 and they have a son, Rev Keith Maudsley.

She moved to St Alban’s Court in 1990 and was the treasurer Daisyfield Club Community Association, a member of the St Stephen’s Church Guild and loved the cinema and holidays in the UK.

There are apartments available in Daisyfield, for more information contact Christine Parry on 0300 555 5560 or register on B-with-us by visiting or calling 0300 123 22 00.
