Bringing Rawtenstall Town Hall back to life

Bringing Rawtenstall Town Hall back to life

Rawtenstall town centre has received a boost following completion of the town hall restoration, reviving a building that lay empty for more than a decade. The renovation, which has created modern office space for Together Housing, is part of the Spinning Point redevelopment of Rawtenstall town centre by RTB Partnership, a joint venture partnership between Rossendale Council, Barnfield Investment Properties Ltd and Together Housing.

Rossendale Council leader Councillor Alyson Barnes said: “The refurbishment of the town hall is a tangible sign of progress on the Spinning Point project. Rawtenstall and the borough are on the up - there is a growing buzz around the town.”

The move also sees a new way for Together Housing customers in Rossendale to meet housing staff at a time that works for everyone.  A new appointment approach will see staff meeting directly with residents at their new base or, when needed, in customers’ own homes.

Amanda Garrard, Director of Neighbourhoods for Together Housing Group, said the new system meant putting the customer’s needs first: “Previously, customers have made the journey to one of our offices and found that the appropriate officer isn’t available.  An appointment system, in our new offices or in their own home, means that the right person can meet the customer with the best answers at a time to that suits.”

Anyone wanting to make an appointment should register at or call their housing officer via 0300 555 5560.
