Which housing association do you work with and at which office? Housing Pendle, Nelson

How did you come to work with Together Housing? I enquired about an apprenticeship and within 2 weeks I managed to get aninterview and I was succesful getting an apprenticeship with Housing Pendle

What are your normal working hours? Full Time

What does your day to day work involve? I do a lot of fencing, fixing doors, supporting my collegues and a lot of second fix joinery

Are you working towards any qualifications? Im working towards an NVQ in Joinery

What do you enjoy about your work? I like working with other collegues and freinds but I also like working to my own initiative sometimes

What’s the most challenging part of your work? Sometimes you have to work on your own and there is pressurw to fix a repair first time and also to make sure you leave the property tidy

How does working life compare with school/college life? I have learnt that there is a lot of team working in this line of work, at school you have to a lot of stuff on your own

What are you learning from your apprenticeship? I have learnt a lot, I have learnt how to fix something first time, how to fit a door and also to be more hands on and how to complete a job to a high standard

What are your future goals? I would like to be a joiner and be able to work on my own and have my own van, I can even start doing my own joinery in my house!

Im really enjoying working for Housing Pendle and learning about joinery at college. All the lads are really good to work with and to learn from
