Update from your Environmental Services Team

Update from your Environmental Services Team

We are still living in uncertain and difficult times, and due to the coronavirus outbreak we have had to make some changes to our environmental services. This update contains important information about these changes. We hope you will understand why we have had to make these decisions and that we are committed to providing a safe environment for you and for our staff.

Services to my estate

We are operating a reduced service with our staff following the Government’s guidelines on social distancing.

Grounds maintenance

We have suspended all our grass and hedge cutting, shrub pruning and related work until further notice. As soon as we can, we’ll resume this work.

Tree services

We are only responding to emergency tree issues, for example situations in which trees have fallen due to storm damage. To report an issue please call our Customer Service Centre on 0300 555 5560 or email

Cleaning and caretaking

We are continuing to deliver cleaning to our high rise living, supported housing, housing with care schemes and some older persons sites. Our team are focusing on the touch points such as door entries, lifts panels, hand rails, doors, push plates and laundry rooms. We will continue to keep bin stores as clear as possible. For all other schemes and blocks, we have suspended regular cleaning but will attend if there are particular problems.

If you want to report an issue or discuss a cleaning concern about a scheme, block or area please contact us.

We are working through any service charge implications and will communicate this to anyone affected when services are back to normal.

What you can do to help

If you do go out of your home and this should be for essential journeys only, you can help us by following social distancing rules and allowing our cleaners and caretakers to do their job quickly and safely.

There is a lot of advice about keeping your home clean and preventing germs from spreading.

  • Focus your efforts on cleaning areas in the house where germs are more likely to spread like the kitchen and bathroom
  • Use soap and hot water or disinfectant to wash germs away, and do this as regularly as you can
  • Focus on door handles, light switches, TV remotes, shared computer keyboards
  • Dry surfaces like worktops and chopping boards after you have cleaned them as dampness helps germs to survive
  • Items like towels, bed linen should be washed at 60 degrees, and remove laundry from washing machines promptly to prevent germs from multiplying

Much more information and advice can be found on the NHS website and on the Which? website.
