Update from Together Housing

Update from Together Housing

Together Housing has carefully considered the implications of the Prime Minister’s announcement on Sunday 10th May.  Our main concern remains the safety of our residents and staff.

The Prime Minister announced that from Wednesday 13th May, there would be an easing of restrictions.  This includes the ability to spend more time outdoors including meeting one other person not from your household. The latest Government guidance does still advise that those with any coronavirus symptoms must stay at home. Also, those residents who are considered vulnerable should still stay at home as much as possible and should try to minimise social contact.

In addition to the Prime Minister’s Sunday announcement, detailed Government guidance was published on Monday 11th May on safe working in offices and in residents’ homes. We will, of course, follow this advice.

We understand that the impact of coronavirus has been significant and if you are experiencing financial hardship and worried about paying your rent, please get in touch with us immediately. Our Income and Welfare Benefits teams are on hand to provide you with advice and support so please don’t delay in contacting us.

We have been running an emergency only repairs service since the lockdown started on 23rd March 2020.  This includes compliance checks on gas and electrics, and we would be grateful if, when contacted, you could ensure we are allowed access to your home to carry out these essential checks for your safety.

To protect both our residents and staff, we have put strict safety measures in place.  These extra precautions include asking residents if they, or a member of their family, are self-isolating before any contact takes place.

We recognise that we need to return to delivering as full a service as possible. However, we need to do this in the safest way and our staff are now planning for how we safely restart our services.

Our Repairs Planning Team are contacting all customers who have a repairs job logged on our system, so we can plan the repairs schedule. We cannot offer an actual date of appointment at this time, but we will be back in touch when we restart our repairs programme.

Work to empty homes to get them ready to let has resumed, but only where the work can be carried out safely and in line with Government guidance. From 18th May, we have started to advertise our properties to let.

We will continue to keep you up to date with the changes to our services. We are here to support you and we thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. If you have any concerns at all about your home, your finances or your wellbeing, please contact us.
