Important update for Pendle residents

Important update for Pendle residents

As a resident of both Together Housing and Pendle Borough Council, it is important that you familiarise yourself with the new local measures announced by the Director of Public Health in Lancashire to help stop the spread of Coronavirus.

The safety of you and your family is our top priority while we continue to provide you with all of our services including repairs. Moreover, we have put in extra measures to keep you safe when we visit you in your home and work in your neighbourhood.

Please help to stop the virus from spreading by following these simple rules:

  • Stay at home if you or anyone in your household has any symptoms of Coronavirus;
  • Wash your hands regularly using soap and water and carry hand sanitiser when you go out;
  • Keep 2 metres distance from people not in your household;
  • Avoid handshakes and embracing when meeting others;
  • Wear a face covering in enclosed spaces; and
  • Avoid or limit large extended family gatherings inside.

Coronavirus testing

A mobile testing unit is in Pendle on Sunday 19th July. You don’t need to have symptoms to be tested – this will help with case finding, identifying people who have no symptoms but who carry the virus. Further details can be found at:

No change to services offered to residents in Pendle

Together Housing has carefully reviewed the new guidelines issued by the Council. At this stage, there are currently no plans to change the services we offer to our residents in Pendle.

This means that we will continue to deliver services such as repairs, work on empty homes, let homes and cut the grass. The decision will be regularly reviewed in line with any changes in guidance from the Council and the Government.

Visiting residents’ homes

If you have an appointment scheduled in your home with Together Housing for whatever reason, we will call ahead to check whether you or a member of your household are currently experiencing any coronavirus symptoms.

Please inform us if there are any symptoms to report and we will rearrange your appointment for a future date.

Our visiting staff member will ask you again about any symptoms within the household when they arrive at the property and before entering. This is to ensure it is safe to carry out your appointment.

Face coverings in residents’ homes

From Monday 20th July, all Together Housing staff members entering residents’ homes within the Pendle area will wear a face covering.

This is in line with the updated guidance from the Council and has been put in place to keep our residents and staff safe.
