Transforming Burnsall Road play area

Transforming Burnsall Road play area

Young children and families in Brighouse will be able to enjoy summer in their local community after a new play park has been installed.

The once outdated play area at Burnsall Road has recently been removed and given a new lease of life for local residents to enjoy. After many years of wear and tear, the old equipment had become unusable, meaning that the previous swing set, main climbing frame and slide, arched climbing frame and seesaw were all removed to make way for new equipment.

An official opening took place in January where local residents came to see the new play park, which was renovated by play equipment suppliers Proludic. Funding for the project was secured by Rastrick Plays Better, who agreed a plan for the works with input from local school children and members of the community to ensure robust equipment with maximum play capacity.

Since the transformation, a new set of swings, miniature assault course, roundabout, seesaw, climbing frame, swings and bench facilities have been fitted. The modern and colourful play park has attracted children from around the neighbourhood and brightened the area. Local children are looking forward to the exciting summer ahead with their new play equipment.

Mark Patterson, Neighbourhood Manager said: “It’s been really positive working with the Rastrick Plays Better project to deliver a complete upgrade of the Burnsall Road play area.

“The old play area was in a poor condition, but it’s fantastic now and we’re sure the local community will really appreciate the upgraded play area.”
