Gas Safety Week 2019 has arrived and our littlest gas safe technicians have something to tell you!
Gas Safety Week is a national event to raise people’s awareness of gas safety and the importance of taking care of gas appliances. Carbon monoxide is a highly poisonous gas. You can’t see it, taste it or
smell it, but it can kill quickly with no warning.
If you have gas supplied, Together Housing will carry out a gas safety check in your home every year.
This is a FREE service so make sure you’re in for your appointment.
The annual gas safety check keeps you, your family and your neighbours safe. Having your gas boiler serviced every year keeps it working efficiently and this will help to keep your gas bills down.
It’s really important you let our gas engineers to access your home at the appointment time made for you. If you’re unable to keep your appointment, please tell us as soon as possible so we cann make an alternative appointment with you.
It’s also very important that we have your up to date contact details. Please tell us if you have changed your mobile number or email address.
What to do if you smell gas
- Turn the gas off at the control.
- Do not smoke.
- Do not switch on lights or electric switches.
- Do not switch on any electrical equipment.
- Open all doors and windows if the leak is within your home.
- Phone the National Gas Emergency number on 0800 111 999.
- Then phone Together Housing on 0300 555 5560.
