Shadsworth Community Action Day

Shadsworth Community Action Day

Blackburn residents are being invited to take pride in their community at the Shadsworth Community Action Day.

On Saturday (3rd November) Together Housing and Newground staff will be engaging with tenants and encouraging them to have an active role in their estate and community centre.

The event includes a mix of activities, these include; face painting, climbing walls and a bouncy castle. Along with litter picking and skips on a number of estates, there is sure to be something for everyone.

As well as having an environmental impact and encouraging a sense of pride in the area, the main focus is to increase the use of the Hub at Shadsworth by residents.

Also helping more people engage with the More Positive Together programme, a European funded project that supports individuals into employment, education and training.

Adam Doyle, Sustainable Communities Co-ordinator for Newground said:

“In recent months the Hub at Shadsworth has increased its activities with new groups and sessions and we want the local residents to be an active body and voice in what goes on at the Hub.”

The Community Action Day will be followed up by a “Shadsworth Voice” open evening on the 15th November.
