Photo Competition: Our winner and shortlist

Photo Competition: Our winner and shortlist

We are delighted to announce the winners and the runners up for our Photo competition.

This year to celebrate World Photo Day on August 19th 2020, we launched a photo competition for our residents. We asked residents to share their favourite photos and after some tough judging we have chosen our winners! Below we have listed our winner and runners up.

Our winner of the photo competition with £50 in Love2Shop vouchers is Michelle McDermott:

Michelle Mc Dermott

Michelle said, “The photo was taken of our boys in Hull after following the fish trail around the city. It was taken on my phone with a simple black and white filter to give it that nostalgic feel. I’m going to get it printed on a canvas, it’ll look great on the wall! I’m delighted to have won. This has made my day, thank you!”

In second place, winning £30 in Love2Shop vouchers is Lauren Riley and Kathryn Bins with a great photo of a cow near Rastrick Woods.

Lauren Jade (4)

Lauren said, “This photograph was taken in and around the Rastrick woods on 19th August which is right on our doorstep! We enjoy blackberry picking in summer and the cows always make us smile! We love walking through the woods throughout the year and seeing it change through the seasons.”

In 3rd place with a prize of £20 in Love2Shop vouchers is Mrs Patricia Morton with her lovely photo of Margaret and Eddie Kettlewell with his saxophone.

Paula Thorne (2)

It was music night at Maple Mews in Alfreton when Eddie entertained his wife, Margaret, and friends to a musical evening for Margaret’s birthday. Eddie is fantastic with a saxophone and can play numbers from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, alongside many show tunes. The social evening was held on the terrace with social distancing adhered to and was a great success.

We will be sharing more of the fantastic entries we received on our Social Media, so make sure to keep an eye out on our Instagram and Facebook pages over the coming weeks.
