The West Yorkshire and Harrogate Health and Care Partnership’s community campaign aims to tackle loneliness and social isolation in the area. This is particularly important during the colder months as people, especially those who are older or vulnerable, can easily become isolated or lonely as a result of bad weather.

According to research from Age UK, over one million older people say they go more than a month without speaking to a friend, neighbour or family member.

Something as simple as checking if your neighbour needs anything when you pop to the shop or inviting them round for a cup of tea and a chat can help prevent isolation in our communities.

The campaign aims to prevent loneliness and its associated health issues by encouraging neighbours to look after each other, helping reduce the demand on health and care services through simple acts of kindness.
