Burnley residents enjoyed a natural Christmas decorations workshop at Offshoots, a Newground community garden project based in Lancashire.

Christmas Decorations Workshop

Daniel McDermott, Education and Training Coordinator at Newground, said: "Christmas is the most magical time of the year but unfortunately, it's also the most wasteful as we get through thousands of tonnes of wrapping paper and cards, not to mention excessive packaging on gifts.

"One way you can reduce your festive impact on the environment without being a Scrooge is to make your own Christmas decorations from natural materials found in the garden.

"From natural wreaths made from willow, holly and ivy to twig trees using branches from the garden, with a little imagination, garden materials can add a special touch to festivities without it costing the earth. Not only is it a fun way of bringing the family together but the decorations look wonderful and smell amazing."
