Big Energy Saving Week: Switch and save

This week is Big Energy Saving Week which is a campaign run by Citizens Advice and aims to spread awareness of how people can save money on their energy bills.

 Switch And Save

If you have never switched energy provider or have not done so within a year then you could be missing out on a better deal. Below are some tips for how to start switching:

  • Before switching make sure to check whether there is a cancellation fee with your current provider. Exit fees are common with fixed tariff rates if you switch early.
  • Have a look at your most recent bill. Take note of how much energy you use in either kWh or pounds, what tariff you are on and what provider you are with. This can be helpful when comparing providers.
  • Using comparison sites you can see where you could be saving a lot more on your annual saving bill by just having a different provider.
  • It’s quick and easy. Your energy switch should be completed within 17 days with no disruption to your service.
