Benefits advisor goes ‘above and beyond’ to help tenant

Carol Robertson, a tenant from the Pendle area, had a change in circumstances which now meant she needed help with her Universal Credit claim. Not sure where to turn, she was directed by Together Housing to its own Welfare Benefits Service and that’s when she was put in touch with Welfare Benefits Advisor Leanne Jarvis.

Carol said, “Leanne was really nice and went above and beyond to help me.  She took the time to explain things and I didn’t feel like I was just another case. Leanne listened as I vented about the situation I was in and gave great advice. Not only did Leanne help me with my original Universal Credit Claim, she also gave me some useful information about the Personal Independence Payment. I probably wouldn’t be where I am without her help.”

Leanne was happy to help Carol as she is with any tenant who contacts Together Housing. Leanne says: “The Welfare Benefits Team are happy to help any residents that have concerns about their benefits. We understand that the benefit system can be complicated and make you feel like you’re stuck. Our expert knowledge is used to advise residents on the options they can take to maximise their income, ensure they have help to pay their rent where needed and help to keep them in their homes.”

Carol added: “My problem didn’t take very long at all to be resolved and it was a big weight off my shoulders. Things have now worked out really well for me!”
