The environment is a big issue in the news these days. Countries around the world are talking about climate change and what can be done to stop it. The Government has plans for how the UK can reduce its carbon emissions.

If climate change isn’t stopped, scientists say the planet will keep getting hotter. This will harm the natural world. It might even threaten human life.

Burning fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas to produce energy is the main cause of climate change. When burnt, fossil fuels release carbon dioxide into the air, causing the planet to heat up. That’s why alternatives to burning fossil fuels are being developed for energy production, transport and heating in homes.

We’re trying to reduce the carbon emissions we produce as an organisation. Later this year, we’ll launch our Go Green Together campaign. This will feature our plans for doing our bit to tackle climate change and how residents can get involved.

Look out for a survey in the next couple of days. Your views matter to us and we would be very grateful if you would take the time to complete the questions.

The survey is being managed by an independent research company, Service Insights. Your feedback will be:

  • for our research purposes only
  • treated confidentially
  • held securely

Your feedback will not be shared with other organisations.

The research report will be published on our website.

Your views will help us to develop our Go Green Together campaign. If you’re invited to complete the survey, it will only take 10 minutes and you could win a great prize in our lucky draw.
