How much rent is collected

We are committed to collecting rent and charges. Here you can see how much of the rent that is owed to Together Housing is collected.

Performance is reported on a quarterly basis. We report performance against our service standards where we are able to.

2021 – 2022

Quarter 1 - How much rent is collected

Although rent collection levels are low, this is expected for this time of year when performance is typically in the mid 90% but this increases month on month throughout. the year. We are currently on track to achieve a target of 100% collection by the year end.

In June 2021, an external audit of new rents was carried out to ensure that they remain in line with the annual guidelines for social housing and as agreed by our Board. All rents from the previous audit were compliant.

Rent statements were sent out to tenants over several weeks towards the end of May and during June 2021. The next rent statements are due to go out over several weeks in August and September 2021.

Notification for the annual rent review statements was distributed in February/March 2021. A full breakdown of all charges is included within the formal offer letter and issued to all new tenants.

2020 – 2021

Quarter 4 - How much rent is collected
How much rent is collected Quarter 4 (January to March 2021)  Performance  Rent collected £153m  % of rent collected	100.4%  We collected over 100% of rent. This is because some tenants have been able to pay off rent arrears and we have recovered monies owed.  Nearly 2,000 tenants have migrated onto Universal Credit  (UC) since the start of the financial year. Currently over  10,000 tenants are now in receipt of Universal credit. We are currently on track to achieve a target of 100% collection by the year end. This has been a particularly challenging period for our residents due toCovid 19. We have seen over 1000 customers migrate onto Universal Credit (UC) over this period.

This has been a particularly challenging period for our residents with over 900 advising of financial hardship as a direct consequence of Covid 19. WE have seen nearly 600 customers migrate onto Universal Credit (UC) over this period.
