qualification

Several Together Housing Group staff have completed their Information Advice and Guidance (IAG) qualifications to help them to help others onto the employment ladder.

They have completed their IAG Level 2 at Accrington and Rossendale College, the qualification focuses on helping people to break down any barriers which will stop them getting into work.

It centres on increasing confidence, self-esteem, and works with people on work placements to help them take the next step as they try to find full-time employment.

THG staff Adam Doyle, Mark Stevenson, Alison Clews, Ken Morton, Sharn Wightman and Denise Williams have all completed the qualification and are putting their new skills into practice with tenants across the North West.

Jean Thompson, Together Housing Group Enterprise and Employment Manager, said: “We are passionate about helping people realise their full potential and this course will help them develop their skills.

“We have been hugely successful in helping people either take that first step onto the employment ladder or getting back into work.”

Ray Falters, Deputy Head of Faculty for Service Industries, added: “Having relationships with organisations such as Together Housing, supporting them in gaining recognition for their efforts is a real plus for the College, showing our commitment in developing skills and confidence within a workforce as well as those yet to enter employment.

“Throughout the course the professionalism and commitment of the Together Housing staff really reflects their passion in helping others getting into work, which we have also experienced at first hand with a recent collaboration.”
